Hearst Museum object titled Axe, accession number 5-17011, described as Dance axe with carved wooden handle and hand forged bladed.  Blade is "T" shaped with an arc shaped blade edge.  Handle is straight, tapered, & flared at base and finished with a large egg-shaped knob at top.  Tang of blade come through the back of the top knob and is bent upward.  A band of wire is 2 cm below the knob.  1962.
Hearst Museum object titled Bag, accession number 11-45534, described as Woven, open mesh, string bag with drawstring closure.  Woven of fiber that is variegated in color so that bag varies from ecru to caramel to sepia to taupe in 25-30 bands of color. Purchased from Yirrkala Arts and Crafts, Yirrkala, Northern Territories, by Nancy Williams.  Gifted by Ms. Williams to Elizabeth Colson.

Hearst Museum object titled Bark painting, accession number 11-45529, described as Bark painting of a creature with a dark brown, egg-shaped body and 2 "arms", each with 2 "fingers".  Body is decorated with 2 sets of 5 narrow white stripes, two slit eyes.  Ground is of dark brown over which 5 groups of 3 bands radiate from the creatures body painted sepia w/ short white longitudinal lines repeated the length of each.  Behind these lines are alternating bands of crosshatching painted white, sepia, and yellow ochre.    Top and bottom are bordered with pieces of wood lashed at each end. Purchased in 1965.
Hearst Museum object titled Bark painting, accession number 11-45531, described as Bark painting features: (right end) a narrow white vertical band bordered by bands of black, edges a vertical band divided into 5 sections by narrow sepia bands outlined with white.  The center sections is decorated with 2 dark brown roundels outlined in white one of which overlays part of the next vertical band.  The sections on either side of the center segment each contain the imprint of a dark brown foot outlined with white.  A band crosshatched in white paint and outlined with sepia and white borders the 5-segment band.  Beyond these vertical bands are 18 horizontal bands of variegated widths, crosshatched with white paint bordered in sepia& white, or sepia, bordered by sepia & white, alternating with unpainted bands.  In the center is a object in the shape of at "tatting" or weaving shuttle, painted dark brown on each end, and with diamond shaped decoration in the center.  Diamonds are crosshatched with white paint.  Dividing the center and end sections are bands of crosshatched white outlined with sepia and white.  Split wooden sticks lashed together at each end edge each end of the painting.
Hearst Museum object titled Bark painting, accession number 11-45528, described as Bark painting of a reptile. Animal is grey outlined & highlighted in white, and decorated the full length of its body with bands of small dots (white, black, sepia, yellow ochre).  On either side of the animal are plants with yellow ochre stems, sepia and ochre leaves, all either outlined w/ white lines of row of white dots.  Background is dark brown.  A twine hanging harness surrounds the piece.  "Djumal + 36-466" inscribed on back. Purchased in 1965.
