The wefts are conifer root.  The weft overlay is beargrass.  At the starting knot there is .5 inch of three strand twining followed by 2 inches of plain twining followed by two weft rows of three strand twining.  Plain twining continues until two inches below the rim, where there are three rows of lattice twining separated by one row of plain twining.  Plain twining continues until the rim.  The main design includes three horizontal zigzag bands, and one sold band of beargrass. The rim is trimmed.  The overlay is on the exterior.  The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist, and a rightward work direction.  The basket is from Northwestern California.

Second tag "Klamath River type (not Klamath)". Per Ralph Shanks:  Twined storage basket, used.  Crossed warp starting knot.  The warp material is probably willow. The wefts are conifer root and possibly willow on the base.  The weft overlay is beargrass with another dark material overlay.  At the starting knot there is plain twining for five inches over multiple warps, followed by alternating plain and three strand twining for one inch.  Plain twining continues until the rim.  The main design is diagonal lines with triangles on either side.    The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist.  The workface is on the exterior, with a rightward work direction.  The basket is from Northwestern California.

Per Ralph Shanks: Twined man's tobacco storage basket. Globular basket A) with constricted mouth and B) lid. The lid is fastened to the basket by leather straps tied over it. The following description is for A): Crossed warp starting knot. The warp material is probably willow. The weft material is conifer root. The weft overlay design background is in beargrass, with the confer root left with no overlay as the design. Starting at the starting knot, there are 2 inches of plain twining, followed by 1 weft row of three strand twining, plain twining continues to the rim. The rim is trimmed. The lid, B), has the same materials and weaving techniques, with the exception of the twining which is from the starting knot two weft rows of three strand twining, followed by plain twining for 1⅓ inches followed by a single weft row of three strand twining, followed by plain twining to the rim. The main design on A) is seven pairs of vertical zigzags. The workface is on the exterior. The overlay is single-sided, with the design on the exterior. Both baskets have a rightward work direction and an up to the right slant of weft twist. The basket is from Northwestern California. There is a hair woven into the basket.
