Hearst Museum object titled Mola, accession number 3-27502, described as Blouse (mola blouse); front and back mola panels have varicolored leaf-like designs on black ground in cotton with some chain stitch embroidery; pink satin sleeves and yoke; tas tas filler; morgonikat type mola; with across sleeves 72 cm., 1.49 cm. Native name and meaning: mora are applique panels. Materials, techniques: cotton, rayon satin; chainstitch; tas tas: short parallel slits made in the top layer which is stitched to small patched of different colors which have been put between the first and second layers (short parallel fill); morganikat: three full layers of applique with multicolored fill. Context of use: blouse worn with headscarf, underskirt, and wraparound skirt.
