Hearst Museum object titled Basket and lid, accession number 9-12630a-c, described as Basket; with lid; rectangular, of split bamboo.  Exterior of bottom (a) and top (b) has vertical strips of bamboo that have been shaved at each end for decorative purpose forming band around middle with serrated edges.  Strips held in place by bands of narrow bamboo strips, tied with rattan.  Lid formerly hinged with rattan (broken).  Carrying handle of wrapped rattan on top of lid.  Looped lock of same.  Interior of twill plaited split bamboo. Latch is detatched from bottom, 5/30/12, AT.

Hearst Museum object titled Jar, accession number 9-12315, described as water jar, ceramic.  large bulging jar w/ wide mouth, short concave neck and a rather narrow foot.  slightly flared rim.  interior has a lightlcoated [sic] band of glaze near top.  exterior has bolk, stylized design of pine trees in copper greens and light & dark brown.  dark brown slip or glaze at base.  rim very worn.  many small bloats, chips in side.  UCDA cat. includes not:  "Extremely valuable".  H. 32 cm.  rim Dia. 29 cm.
Hearst Museum object titled Trays, accession number 9-12577a,b, described as Trays, nested, of lacquered wood.  (b) smaller than (a), but identical in shape and decoration; Long, rectangular, straight sides, flat bottom, all corners curved.  Base cut in narrower than sides, with curved corner.  Very slight lip on outer rim.  Very glossy black lacquer ground (kuro-urushi), with painted gold (kingindieqwa) design of hollyhock leaves on scroll like vines on sides and stretching into the interior bottom.  Many scratches and chips.  Interior bottom of (b) is duller than (a).
