The design is complicated with many elements. Starting at the base there is a black band around the starting knot, followed by five sets of triangles, followed by a band of black and white designs, at the main body there is a horizontal zigzag with rectangles and triangles on it, at the rim there are several black, red and tan rings, above which are multicolored triangles. The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist with an exterior workface. Based on the materials and techniques this is a Northwest California basket, possibly Karuk based on the area of collection.
