Hearst Museum object titled Burden basket, accession number 1-71506, described as Burden basket, plain openwork twined. Basket has a willow hoop reinforcing it at rim and 2 cloth straps near rim. Two leather straps are attached about half - way down. There is a reinforcing rim around the lower portion of basket. Basket is without decoration. Point has been worn through.

Warps are made of willow, weft elements are of Xerophyllum tenax and pine root (probably gray pine).
