Hearst Museum object titled Head covering, accession number 9-23335, described as Men's head piece for ceremony. Body of head piece is triangular and lined with rust red fabric which is used for for straps. Black hemp cloth with white, light and dark brown, green, purple and yellow grid and weave embroidery in bands of repeating patterns. Overall pattern is truncated squares/triangles. Straps finish with brown tassels hanging from beads.
Hearst Museum object titled Head tassel, accession number 9-23331, described as Head tassel Body of piece is black strip of cloth. Final 13" is cross stitched and embroidered in repeating patterns that fill squares and rectangles. Thread is white, brown, dark blue and pink. 27 pink silk tassels hanging from black and white bead trios.
