The rim is trimmed. The overlay design is in seven horizontal bands with no overlay in-between the bands. The workface is on the exterior. The overlay design is on the exterior face with only a little beargrass on the interior. The basket has a rightward work direction and an up to the right slant of weft twist.

The basket has multiple horizontal one weft rows comprised of maidenhair fern. A sun/flower pattern is formed by beargrass triangles at the start. The main design is formed by a several elements comprised of a triangle surrounded by smaller triangles. The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist. The workface is on the exterior, with a rightward work direction. The overlay is only on the exterior. The basket is from Northwestern California, possibly Wiyot. The Wiyot and peoples South of them were known to dye conifer root as seen in this basket.
