Hearst Museum object titled Mola, accession number 3-30191, described as Molas, matched pair, attached on one side seam; 99 cm x 34 cm; bottom of molas edged with very dirty white material; layers; red on top and black on bottom; middle layer is lime green on left mola, orange on right other colors used in fill and on applique include; blue, green, pink, black, purple, and printed material; design motifs: 2 large pelicans, one eating a fish; smaller design motifs include fish, alphabet letters, feathers and abstract designs derived from letters.; small areas of vertical slits are fill; across the top is a row of horizontal slits as fill.

Hearst Museum object titled Mola, accession number 3-30179, described as Mola blouse, Blouse, floral printed cotton, white with red and green; yoke, 9cm w. x 47 cm. l., trim at neck in black orange and red cotton, 38.5 cm,self fabric neckband encases gathering cord; connecting trim to mola, saw tooth applique trim in orange and black 1.cm w. with white strip at bottom 2cm w. lower edge trim of mola ; pieced black and yellow , widely pleated in sections from 8 to 14 cm. w x 6.3 cm. h. Sleeves 12 cm x 16 cm. with red rick rack and 1 cm. black stripe as trim. Mola:, 47.5 cm w.x 37.5 h. Back; mirror images; 2 facing long plummaged birds w/ wide tails attached to/riding on backs of 2 tapir -like animals; animals and all background space filled w/ vertical linear reverse applique openings over pieced backing in orange, blue, pink, printed , yellow, magenta, jade green, olive green.; fine stitching and chain embroidery decorate the faces and legs and outlines of animals. Front; virtually same design, but animals have red top layer over orange ; back, yellow, over red base fabric.background.

(splits to front and back at neck hole) 14 cm. from the sleeve seam; 11.5 cm long areas back and front pleated at shoulder and cuff in the green flannel; 1 cm. neck band in black and white gingham 27 cm l. encases cord. Sleeves 14.5 xm x 20 cm. w/ gathering at shoulder and cuff; 2 cm , with orange and pink.trim; trim connecting blouse to mola handmade sawtooth in orange and a stripe of black. Bottom trim; 3 cm white cotton. Mola: back and front; 49 cm w. x 39 cm l.; four X shaped motifs , each w/ four trapazoidal shapes inside surrounded by serpentine background ; color layers, dark red, gold and tomato red.; fill pieces are backed by many different colored fabric in solids and prints; asymetrical reverse applique along sides. same basic design on back and front.
