Hearst Museum object titled Hand piano, accession number 5-17043, described as Hand piano (kankobela) constructed with a rectangular sounding box, w/ round hole in base and a small rectangular hold is the end opposite the "keys". The box is decorated with a 0.5cm, wood burned band along every edge and single, double or tripled vertical bands on each side. One side is inscribed in pencil, "Djibu Andre Basonge". Ten "keys are formed from flattened strips of metal with a slightly widened end above the sounding box. The keys are held in place by a metal band wired through small openings in the "neck". Supporting bands (one metal, one wood, caused the "keys to be slightly elevated on each end. 1957
