Cast of Greek inscription with a dedication of his statue by the athlete Xenokles, ca. 400-380 BCE. In two lines at right angles to one another. From a marble original at Olympia, Greece, wrongly listed as a bronze one in the sale catalogue of the Berlin Royal Museum’s cast works, and hence absurdly bronzed.
