sweetmeat set: 9 enameled dishes (a-i), in round oak container with lid (j,k): a) center plate: round, flat bottomed, turned up side, brass rim, 3 spur feet. decoration: black vases of various shapes, 1 with emblems projecting from mouth, on white ground; gilt detail. border patterns: trellis-work alternating with scroll work band at inner side, black scroll work on pale blue on side. rolling linear design on exterior on exterior on pale lime-green ground. blue flower design on base. (b-i) wedge shaped, to fit around center dish (a); with scalloped outer curve. each has similar decoration to (a) and one of the 8 ordinary symbols (pa pao). (j,k) are round, flat bottomed oak, stained to rosewood appearance. both with major split thru. paper label states "18th c." (a) has large chip.
