Description:
4” x 5” Black and white negative of lion on anthill with oil can. Lion looks away from camera. Hoefler's original description: "This male had carried one can of the stolen oil to his place on the ant hill. Here he is watching another member of the party while I secured this photo. We later recovered the can full of holes and empty of oil. Part of the troop had made off with two cans of oil, and it was some time before we found them at another part of the water hole. I was lucky to get the one photo of the male as he was watching another of the party.
