Cast of "Votive Relief to the Eleusinian Deities". The relief is the Great Eleusinian Relief, a work of ca. 425 BC from the Sanctuary of Demeter at Eleusis, now in the National Museum at Athens. A unique artefact because of its huge size, quality, subject (Demeter, Triptolemos, and Kore), and deeply puzzling function, it was copied in antiquity (the best-known copy is in the Met.)
