Twined, bowl shape with incurving rim. Tag "NE California". Per Ralph Shanks: Materials are conifer root weft with overlay of beargrass background; designs are black maidenhair fern, and red dyed woodwardia fern stem. Designs are black stepped triangles and rectangles, with red stripes. Plain twined with some rows of three strand twining. Up to right slanted twist. Possibly Southern Humboldt Athabaskan.
