Single rod coiling, wide mouth, sloping sides. Tag "Pomo type". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled basket bowl with flaring sides, unused. The basket has a closed start. The basket has a single rod foundation, probably willow. The weft materials are sedge root background, with the designs in unpeeled redbud, and bulrush root. The use of two design colors is unusual in North Central California. The design at the base is a many sided star/flower formed by redbud triangles. On the sides are diagonal bands of bulrush zigzags. The workface is on the exterior, with a few split stitches on the back face. The weft fag ends and moving ends are concealed. The work direction is to the left. The basket has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered coil ending. This is basket is attributed to the Pomo due to the materials, work direction, starting knot, and shape.
