Toy cot (charpai: "four feet"): Wood frame with four red lacquered and turned legs; bed of cot is pink, yellow, and green dyed possibly jute fiber in cross-weaving with distinctive row of braid-like effect just inside the frame on the top side; over and under appearances. height: 8.6cm. length: 21.5cm. width: 16.5cm. Context: toy. miniature of traditional cot. See 9-14896ab for crochet hooks. Collector's note: "The cross-woven charpai filling is done by a crochet technique using two hooks, one for each side. This is the only technique for cross weaving she has seen in India. it always produces a distinctive row of braid-like effect just inside the frame on the top side.
