Shoes, a pair; twined rushes; natural straw color; shaped like Dutch wood clogs but w/more rounded toes/. Twined rushes, natural straw color. China, Shandong (Shantung) Prov. (northern China). According to importer these are traditionally worn as house slipper, never worn outside the house. The importer had the native design modified i.e. shoes made with rounder toe and in many bright colors. Dealer who sold shoes to donor said that they were snow boots. L. ea. 33 cm.
