Native name and meaning: "tiuka" - dance plume; "piuya" - the reed used in bangles. Remarks: Ephe Cummings...said that he did not know whether these plumes were used "in older times" (alternative reading of field notes might indicate that Mr. Cummings was not sure if the Miwok used the "piuya" reeds in their plumes in previous times).
