Description:

Basket: lantern-shaped; wickerweave; band at base of cover and bottom has circles in black and white dots on orange ground. Base height 19.5 cm. Rim diameter 31 cm. Conical cover with carrying loop. Rim diameter 32 cm. Carried on head by women on route to ceremonies; probably container for cooked rice with turmeric, and for cookies from Pajakumbueh.
