Sapwood. Tcaha = redbud; kolkai = backbone, i.e. spinal column of animal. Two Tags: "Yuki". Third tag "1063". Per Ralph Shanks: Globular coiled basket bowl. Some non-food residue is in the bottom interior. The basket has a twined start, with peeled redbud. The coil foundation is made up of peeled shoot splints. The wefts are widely spaced and are light interior redbud sapwood and unpeeled redbud designs. The design is two horizontal bands of two rows of unpeeled redbud. There is one possible random rectangle, formed by a few only partially peeled stitches. The rim is plain wrapped with peeled redbud. The rim coil ending is diagonally backstitched with two stitches. The weft moving ends are in a style that would normally appear concealed. The weft fag ends are bound under. 20% of the wefts are split on the interior, very few are split on the exterior. The workface is on the exterior. The work direction is to the right with a down to the right slant of weft twist.
