Hemispherical coiled basket with design in vertical zigzag. Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Low broad flaring coiled bowl, in the shape of parching or cooking basket. It has some sap-like residue but not obviously used for cooking. The basket has a tight spiral start. The coil foundation is splint and rods. The weft material is redbud, peeled and unpeeled. The design includes one horizontal line with a break in it at the start followed six wefts later by four vertical zigzags that continue to the rim. There are random rectangles. The rim is plain wrapped; the rim coil ending is blunt with eight peeled and unpeeled redbud rim ticks, two weft stitches are missing. The weft fag ends are bound under; the weft moving ends are concealed. About 50% of the wefts are split on the interior, less than 10% are split on the exterior. The wefts are non-interlocking. The basket has an exterior workface. It has a rightward work direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
