Description:
Basket; coiled. Warp is grass, weft is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Black pattern is Brake fern (Pteris quilina). Red pattern is Redbud. Apparently two baskets, elliptical and recurved, joined by a flat basketry foundation. Both the foundation and the baskets are coiled. Decoration: smaller basket has open red diamond figures in a design termed "rare" by Samuel A. Barrett; larger basket has red variant on zigzag pattern. Designs are in redbud.
