Description:
Netsuke: (to fasten): seated bear/fox, wearing huge farmer's hat and carrying a bottle (with writing). 5.3 cm; toggle to be attached to the end of a cord and thrust through the sash of a kimono for the support of a purse, pouch, or lacquer box; 20th century example. Stolen 1981, recovered from W. H. Chia, Jnc (?) San Francisco 5-15-81, returned by UCPD 5-27-81.
