Horse bit; rigid mouthpiece is square in cross-section; ends are flattened and curled inwards, L. side once and right side twice. Cheek pieces in form of sub-rectangular plaque in shape of horse, worked on both sides. Horses have short manes, eyes, ears and a bell hanging from the neck. 2 loops on each to hold cheek straps. 4 studs on inside of each cheek piece. Brown patina w/green encrusted patina in areas of less wear. Probably ceremonial or votive in function. W. 14.0 cm; Cheek piece L. 12.5 cm; Ht. 7.6 cm.
