Stool. Concave round top ornamented with brass and brass wire. Brass circle in center nailed to larger piece of plated metal and surrounded by circles of inlaid coiled wire. 6 brass roundels inside rim. 3 rounded legs, each with 1 perforation. Leather thong through 1 of them. Seat diameter 22.5 centimeters, height 10.4 centimeters. From Nigeria, probably Northern Nigeria, Kano (fide Mrs. William Bascom). Materials: reddish brown wood, various metals).
