Description:
Tag on basket reads, "Number lost; probably not findable. Yurok attr. 8-3-[19]83." [Very large elongated twined basket with barely visible bear paw or stepped designs. Water stained and smoke stained. Twined rim broken and split in several places with some areas missing. Supporting interior hoops broken; vegetal matter inside. 1-2003] Per Ralph Shanks: Storage basket with beargrass overlay and possibly other material. Plain twined with occasional bands of 3 strand twining. Portions of rim missing. Diagonal dark designs, triangular. Also horizontal zig zag designs at top and bottom. Reinforcing rods inside.
