TONALA CERAMIC CANDLE HOLDER: Candle holder in the shape of a standing woman. Her cylindrical skirt forms the base and her upraised arms form the candle holders. Her head rises between the upraised arms. Figure is dressed in a green & natural clay dress, intricately decorated with ovoid, decorative loops, spirals, scallops, blue flowers in shades of blue, brown and green Her head is wrapped in a green head wrap with at decorated top knot. Label inside bottom edge reads: “Mex KE” and a small animal is painted in black (potter’s mark?). NOTE: this piece has been broken and repaired at some time in the past. One arm and the head have been broken.
