Object count:
1
Description:
Per Ralph Shanks: Large open work tray. The rim is wrapped and reinforced- not with redbud or wild grape. The basket is plain-twined with up to right slant of weft twist, common in Northern California. Warp is probably willow shoots. Starting knot is crossed warp start common in Northern California, but not limited to that area. May not be Northwest California because reinforcing of the rim doesn't match their technique. But should be at least Northern California. An educated guess of culture would be Southern Humboldt Athabaskan as undulation is common on the surface of their baskets.
