Close-woven. 2 Tags, one with "33-A, Lassik", and second tag "Lassik" Per Ralph Shanks: Twined conical burden/gathering basket, not used. Crossed warp starting knot. Warps are a peeled shoot and the wefts are conifer root with a beargrass overlay which is irreglar on the interior.Starting at the starting knot there is three strand twining for 2 1/2 inches, followed by 1/4 inch of plain twining followed by 1 weft row of 3 strand twining, followed by 11 3/4 inch of plain twining, then 1 weft row of 3 strand twining, and one large reiforcement rod at the rim. Two shaping/reinforcement rods on the interior. Three diagonal zigzag designs that radiate upwards, above these are 2 horizontal bands of beargrass, a horizontal row of triangles, topped by an alternating checkered pattern of beargrass. The basket has an exterior workface. The overlay is primarily on the exterior and some irregularly on the interior. The slant of weft twist is up to the right; the work direction is to the right.
