Per Ralph Shanks: Basket bowl. Overlay is beargrass, red-dyed woodwardia fern, and maidenhair fern (black) with conifer root weft. The design is visible on the inside and the outside. The rim is wrapped with redbud. The basket is plain twined except for the bottom which has three strand twining. There is a reinforcing rod at the base and rim. The rod sticks out in several areas of the rim.
