Rawhide rattle; handle cloth wrapped. Subsequent documentary investigation revealed that these objects were part of a temporary loan from Mr. Mike Swims Under, a member of the Blackfeet Nation and traditional religious leader residing in Heart Butte, Montana, and were accessioned in error. They were returned to the owner in March/April 1999. [cf. 5/11/99 correspondence from Dr. Rosemary Joyce, former PAHMA Director, to Dr. Francis McManamon, National Park Service; in accession file #1632].
