(or shrine figure?): Carved ivory figure of the Amida Buddha, sitting atop the lotus platform in meditation w/ hands in the double triangle position (Dyana mudra). Hair is represented in the conventional Greco 'curls' style w/ small squares in relief, and slight moustache. Figure is polished very smooth w/ deep cut lines for folds of garment. Depressions are very dark. The lotus pedestal is in two pieces attached. Bottom of pedestal has peg for attaching to missing 4th section. H. 6.5 cm.

One covers his ears, another eyes, and the last his mouth with hands ("Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil"). Surfaces angular. Some black paint detail. Height 2 centimeters. Hole runs through, between heads and feet.
Hearst Museum object titled Netsuke, accession number 9-12566, described as Figure, cast metal representing monkey holding aloft a large peach. The peach appears to have been cast separately and attached. The fur is represented by short incised or stamped lines. A few holes from the casting have been filled. The metal is dark, dull grey, probably a lead alloy. H. 6cm.

Hearst Museum object titled Netsuke, accession number 9-12538, described as Carving / Cabinet piece (?): Ceramic figure representing Fukurokujiu, one of the Seven gods of luck (Shichifukujin). Made of a buff colored clay, w/ white slip. The face is painted buff w/ black eyes, black strokes for beard and red on mouth. The front of his garment is painted green w/ red sleeves. His tall head is chipped The short body is flat, the base is flat & oval w/ hole in middle. H. 5 cm.
